It makes you smarter. Brain function is the strongest predictor of academic success and after multiple studies and tests done on children and adults they concluded that being a musician increases brain functionality. This effect that we experience because of music is evident in multiple ways. Music increases your mood and makes you feel better causing your brain to be less closed off, while teaching you important skills like patience along with different ways to interpret information. This is due to the fact that you must learn how to read music to write it and play it. Music can also make you more effective in the workplace by reducing stress levels and tension increasing performance levels. In the common work environment it is common to see many workers listening to music through headphones or a radio. This is evidence of how music can help one to also remain focused and complete tasks on time, a valuable tool to any employer. Music makes you happier Music is essential to the happiness of human beings due to its effects on the human brain. This is because music causes the brain to release dopamine, a “feel good” chemical. We also use music as a tool to communicate with others to make them feel good as well and has led to the evolution of mankind and cultures of different societies. According to a recent study, even just the anticipation of a composition like Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" or Phish's "You Enjoy Myself" can get the feel-good chemical flowing. Furthermore, music has evolved mankind with the “feel-good” chemical that it provides. In that, the sharing of the joy of listening to music enabled people to become more social sharing information and pushing the evolution of society.
